PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

trezor-suite.im is an impersonation phishing site that borrows the name of Trezor Suite, the official desktop and web companion app for Trezor hardware wallets. It targets Trezor owners looking to download or open Suite. PhishDestroy first saw the domain on 2026-10-10. It was still online with live content on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake Trezor Suite sites usually offer a counterfeit download or a web page that claims the wallet needs a recovery, update or verification step. They then ask for the 12- or 24-word recovery seed. Anyone who types that phrase hands over full control of the wallet, and the funds can be moved immediately without the physical device. When last loaded, the page showed a Cloudflare notice, "This website has been temporarily rate limited", rather than Trezor-branded content. That differs from our impersonation classification.

Evidence

On 2026-10-13, 9 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Gridinsoft. That is a minority of engines, but the vendors are independent of each other and agree on the verdict. The domain is also on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy. Wallet-side protection therefore already warns many users. One AlienVault OTX pulse references it as well.

Infrastructure

Registrar details for the domain are redacted. The site sits behind Cloudflare, Inc. on a Canada-geolocated address, which hides the server that actually hosts the content. Its TLS certificate comes from Let's Encrypt. The browser padlock therefore only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about whether the site is genuine.

What to do

Trezor will never ask for your recovery seed on a website or inside any app. If you entered your seed on this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new seed on your device and move any remaining funds to it from a trusted setup right away. If you installed software from this domain, uninstall it, scan the computer, and get Trezor Suite only from Trezor's official channels. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and report it to Cloudflare's abuse channel. They should also warn users who search for "Trezor Suite" downloads.
