PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

stakoplus.app is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as STAKO and targets crypto users drawn in by staking or yield offers. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-10-16, three days after the domain was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the site is still online and serving its content, so it remains a live risk.

How the scam works

The page carries the title STAKO and copies the branding of a crypto staking service. It aims to convince visitors they are on a genuine platform. Schemes like this typically push visitors to connect a wallet, sign a transaction, enter a recovery phrase or send a deposit to start earning. Any of these actions can hand control of funds to the operators. Signed approvals can let them move tokens later, a seed phrase gives them the whole wallet, and deposits sent to the site are simply kept.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the site malicious and tagged it as a cryptoscam. The domain appears on the PhishDestroy, MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, and it is referenced in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses. VirusTotal showed 0 detections out of 92 engines on 2026-10-16. Infrastructure
