PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

rapidexpressaircourier.com is an impersonation phishing page that borrows the look of an express air courier to win the trust of people waiting on a delivery. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-26. As of 2026-10-19 the site is still online, and its content sits behind a protective gate.

How the scam works

Fake courier sites usually reach victims through texts or emails about a held parcel, a failed delivery or unpaid customs. The page then asks for a small redelivery or clearance fee. What victims hand over is the real prize: card numbers, home addresses, phone numbers and sometimes login credentials, which are later used for fraud or resold. The page currently presents itself under the title "Bot Verification" rather than as courier content, while we classify the site as courier impersonation.

Evidence

Five of 92 engines on VirusTotal flagged the domain in a 2026-10-10 scan: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That is a modest count, but these are independent vendors reaching the same verdict. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as a spam source, which fits the message-driven lure behind courier scams. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference it, so other researchers have tracked it as part of wider activity.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-04-14 through HOSTINGER operations, UAB, about five months before PhishDestroy caught it. A gap that long suggests the domain was prepared ahead of time or ran quietly before it was noticed. It resolves to 23.153.104.17 on the Aquiryn LLC network in the United States. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives the page a browser padlock, which says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you paid a delivery or customs fee on this site, contact your card issuer right away to dispute the charge and ask for a replacement card. If you entered personal details, expect follow-up texts and calls posing as couriers or banks, and do not act on them. If you typed a password, change it everywhere you reuse it and turn on two-factor authentication. To check a real shipment, type the carrier's address yourself or use its official app. Defenders should block the domain and its IP at the mail gateway and DNS layer, and should search inbound SMS and email logs for messages linking to it.
