PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

qryptoxex.com is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as QryptoX, with that name in the browser tab, and it targets cryptocurrency users who believe they are reaching a legitimate platform. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-25. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its phishing content, so it remains a live risk.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages like this copy the name and look of a crypto service so that visitors trust them enough to act. Victims are typically asked to log in, enter a recovery phrase, connect a wallet or send a deposit. Whatever is entered goes to the operators. Lost credentials let them take over accounts, a seed phrase hands them the whole wallet, and deposited funds are gone the moment they are sent. The QryptoX branding is the bait, and the extra "ex" in the domain is easy to miss when someone is following a link from an ad, a message or a search result.

Evidence

Independent detection is still thin. On 2026-10-06, 4 of 91 VirusTotal engines (alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar) flagged the domain, so most scanners would still let it through. The stronger signal comes from the crypto security community. Besides PhishDestroy, the domain is on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, and it appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-24 through Cloudflare, Inc., and PhishDestroy caught it the next day. A one-day gap between registration and detection fits a site set up for immediate use rather than a long-standing business. It sits behind Cloudflare's network, geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server. Its free, automatically issued Let's Encrypt certificate means the padlock icon says nothing about whether the site is honest.

What to do

Do not enter credentials, recovery phrases or funds on qryptoxex.com. If you logged in with a password used anywhere else, change it on every affected service and turn on app-based 2FA. If you typed in a seed phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and move the remaining assets to a newly created wallet immediately. If you connected a wallet and signed anything, revoke the token approvals using a trusted approval checker. Any money already sent cannot be recalled by the site, so ignore follow-up requests for "unlock" or "withdrawal" fees. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and report it to Cloudflare for abuse handling.
