PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ledger-moon.com borrows the Ledger name and pairs it with crypto-flavored slang to look like an official or promotional Ledger site. It targets owners of Ledger hardware wallets and anyone shopping for one. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-10-04, and as of 2026-10-19 it was still online and serving content. The browser tab reads "Site is being set up...", a placeholder-style title, while our classification identifies the domain as impersonation phishing.

How the scam works

Ledger impersonation sites usually claim the visitor must verify, sync, update or restore their device, then ask for the 24-word recovery phrase. Some variants instead push a wallet connection and a signature request. A recovery phrase typed into such a page hands the attacker full control of every account tied to that device, and they can empty it from anywhere without touching the hardware. Ledger never asks for a recovery phrase on any website, form or support chat.

Evidence

On 2026-10-06, VirusTotal showed 14 of 91 engines flagging the domain. The vendors included BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar and Chong Lua Dao, a spread of commercial and community sources rather than a single outlier. The crypto-focused blocklists of MetaMask and SEAL list it alongside PhishDestroy, so MetaMask users may see a warning before the page loads. Spamhaus DBL lists the domain as spam, and it appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through NameSilo, LLC on 2026-09-13, just 21 days before PhishDestroy caught it. That short gap fits a site set up quickly for a campaign. It resolves to 144.172.110.160 on AS14956 RouterHosting LLC in the United States. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives it a browser padlock, which only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you entered your Ledger recovery phrase on this site, treat that wallet as compromised. Reset the device, generate a new phrase, and move any remaining funds to the new accounts immediately. If you connected a wallet or signed anything, revoke token approvals with a trusted approval checker and stop using that address for high-value holdings. If you only visited without entering anything, close the tab and get Ledger software only from Ledger's official channels. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, apply the Spamhaus DBL listing, and report the domain to the registrar and host.
