PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

jaymarutidada.com hosts a phishing page that impersonates Spectrum and targets the provider's internet, TV and mobile customers. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-14. The site was still online when last checked on 2026-10-19, so anyone receiving links to it should treat them as live and dangerous.

How the scam works

Spectrum impersonation schemes usually start with an email or text claiming a billing problem, an overdue payment or a suspended account. The link leads to a page styled like a Spectrum sign-in or payment screen, where the victim types in a username and password, and often card details as well. Whatever is entered goes straight to the operators, who can take over the account, change billing and use the card or the credentials elsewhere. The page title reads "Not Acceptable!", a server-error style label, while the page itself is classified as Spectrum impersonation.

Evidence

On 2026-10-18, 16 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai, CTX AI and Chong Lua Dao. Google Safe Browsing lists it for social engineering, so many browsers show a warning before the page loads. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and recognized Spectrum branding on it. The domain also appears on the PhishDestroy and PhishFeed blocklists and in 3 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2014-10-31 through PDR Ltd. (PublicDomainRegistry.com), almost twelve years before it was detected, and its name has nothing to do with Spectrum. That gap means age-based reputation checks will not catch it. The site resolves to 207.174.212.247 on Unified Layer's network in the United States. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the address bar says nothing about whether the site is genuine.

What to do

If you entered your Spectrum login on this page, change that password immediately through Spectrum's official app or website. Change it anywhere else you used the same password, and turn on two-step verification. If you entered card details, call your bank to block the card and dispute any charges you don't recognize. Then check your Spectrum account for changed contact details or billing settings. Expect follow-up messages that look like Spectrum. Don't click links in them, and reach Spectrum only through contacts you look up yourself. Defenders should block the domain and its IP at the mail and web gateway and search mail logs for messages linking to it.
