PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

graniteassets.top is an impersonation phishing site that presents itself as "Likefire," a self-described one-stop global investment platform for forex, commodities, stocks, indices, cryptocurrencies, gold and oil. Scanners also matched Coinbase branding on the page, which puts crypto investors and Coinbase users squarely in its sights. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-10-03. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

The page title promises access to every major market from a single account. That pitch is typical of fraudulent trading platforms, which lure visitors with easy returns and borrow the look of a trusted name like Coinbase to seem legitimate. Victims are pushed to register, hand over login details, and fund an account that shows fake profits. When they try to withdraw, they are asked for new "fees" or "taxes," and whatever was deposited is gone. The title advertises a broad multi-asset broker called Likefire, while our classification rests on the page impersonating an established brand.

Evidence

On 2026-10-05, 14 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including Kaspersky, BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. That is a modest but meaningful consensus from established vendors. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and detected Coinbase branding on the page. Beyond PhishDestroy, the domain sits on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, and it is referenced in one AlienVault OTX threat pulse.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Gname.com Pte. Ltd. on 2026-07-31, about two months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests the site was prepared in advance or ran quietly before drawing attention. Traffic passes through Cloudflare (AS13335, US), so the visible IP belongs to Cloudflare's network rather than the operator's actual server. The site's Google Trust Services certificate only means the connection is encrypted. The padlock says nothing about whether the operator can be trusted.

What to do

Do not deposit money and do not pay any "withdrawal fee" or "unlock tax" this platform demands. Paying more never releases your funds. If you used Coinbase or other exchange credentials here, change those passwords immediately, reset two-factor authentication, and check for unfamiliar logins or withdrawals. If you sent funds, keep transaction records and screenshots, then report the loss to your bank or exchange and to the police. Defenders should block graniteassets.top at DNS and web proxies and alert users to fake multi-asset investment platforms that borrow Coinbase branding.
