PhishDestroy threat report
bbirdgshop.shop presents itself as an official "8 Ball Pool Store" where players can buy coins and cash for the popular mobile pool game. It is not affiliated with the game. PhishDestroy classifies it as impersonation phishing aimed at 8 Ball Pool players, especially those chasing discounted top-ups. We first detected it on 2026-10-11, and it was still online with its storefront live on 2026-10-19.
The page title, "8 Ball Pool Store: Purchase Coins, Cash," is the bait: a convincing shop that promises in-game currency packs, often at prices better than the real in-app store. Sites like this typically ask the player to log in with their game or linked social account to "deliver" the coins, then take payment by card or another method. The victim can lose the money paid, the payment card details typed into the checkout, and control of the game account itself. The promised coins are not delivered.
Nine of 92 VirusTotal engines flag the domain as of 2026-10-12, among them BitDefender, ESET, G-Data, Gridinsoft, alphaMountain.ai, Chong Lua Dao, CyRadar and LevelBlue. That is a modest count, but it comes from vendors working independently of one another. urlscan.io rates the site malicious and specifically marks it as a fake shop, which matches our classification. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it, and it is on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-05-22, nearly five months before we caught it. A domain held in reserve for that long before it surfaces fits an operator that prepares storefronts ahead of use. It resolves to 46.245.239.152 on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in Georgia. The free Let's Encrypt certificate gives the site a browser padlock, which proves nothing about its legitimacy.
Do not buy anything on this site. If you paid there, contact your card issuer or payment provider right away to dispute the charge and ask for a replacement card. If you logged in with a game, Facebook, Google or Apple account, change that password, enable two-factor authentication and sign out of all other sessions. Buy 8 Ball Pool currency only through the in-game store or official app marketplaces. Security teams should block the domain and its IP, and watch for lookalike "shop" domains that use the same game branding.
