Its page title, "Shop Washable Sofas Online starting at $699 | Anabei", borrows the brand name and pricing pitch to look like the real shop. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-02. As of 2026-10-19 the domain was still online and redirecting visitors.
How the scam works
Fake shops like this copy a real brand's catalogue, photos and prices, then add urgency through sales, countdowns or "limited stock" claims to push a fast checkout. The victim pays by card or another method and receives nothing, a cheap substitute, or a fake tracking number that leads nowhere. A sofa order also requires a full name, delivery address, phone number and payment details, all of which the operators can reuse or sell. The loss is the purchase price plus exposure of that personal and financial information.
Evidence
Seven of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-10-02: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and Netcraft. That is a modest count, but the vendors come from separate sources, including a phishing-focused feed in Netcraft. urlscan.io rated the site malicious and specifically marked it as a fake shop, which matches our classification. The domain also appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-07-14, about 80 days before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap is typical for shops that are set up, filled with copied listings and promoted through ads before anyone reports them. The site is hosted on Malakmadze Web LLC's network in Georgia, which has no obvious link to a US-style furniture brand. Its Let's Encrypt certificate provides the padlock icon for free, so the padlock says nothing about whether the shop is genuine.
What to do
If you ordered from anaroost.shop, contact your bank or card issuer immediately, report the charge as fraud and request a chargeback, and ask for a replacement card if you entered your card details. Do not pay any further "shipping", "customs" or "order release" fees, and treat follow-up emails or texts about your order as possible phishing. Watch your statements for unfamiliar charges. Defenders should block the domain and check web and DNS logs for visits or payment attempts. Watch for other Anabei-themed lookalike domains, especially on cheap new TLDs like .shop.
