It targets Flare users and crypto wallet holders who land on it believing they are on the genuine Flare site. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-10-07. When last checked on 2026-10-19, the site still responded but DNS for its content was inactive.
How the scam works
The page copies Flare's branding and headline so a visitor arriving from an ad, social post or direct message sees nothing out of place. Fake blockchain sites like this push victims to connect a wallet, sign transactions, or type a recovery phrase to claim rewards or fix an account. A seed phrase hands over the whole wallet. A malicious signature or token approval lets the operators move assets without asking again. The random string in the domain and the cheap .cfd extension are the clearest signs that this is not Flare's real address.
Evidence
On 2026-10-11, 14 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Certego, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. That is a solid spread of independent security vendors for a site only days old. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and recognised the Flare Network branding on it. The domain is listed by the wallet-focused blocklists MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL alongside PhishDestroy, and four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-10-07, the same day PhishDestroy detected it. That timing points to a disposable domain stood up purely for this campaign. It sits behind Cloudflare (AS13335, US), which hides the real origin server. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate gives the browser padlock but says nothing about who runs the site.
What to do
If you entered a recovery phrase here, treat that wallet as compromised. Move any remaining funds to a new wallet created with a fresh seed on a clean device. If you connected a wallet or signed anything, revoke the token approvals granted during that session with a trusted approval checker and watch for unexpected transfers. In future, reach Flare only through bookmarked official channels, and remember that no legitimate project ever asks for your seed phrase. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and add it to wallet and browser protection lists. Flag related newly registered .cfd domains that carry Flare branding.
