robinhood-cashback.com posed as an official Robinhood promotion under the page title "Robinhood Exclusive Cashback" and targeted Robinhood customers and crypto traders. How the scam works
The lure is a reward that doesn't exist. A branded "exclusive cashback" page invites visitors to claim money, and claiming it requires signing in or "verifying" the account. Pages like this typically capture the Robinhood email and password, then ask for the one-time 2FA code so the operator can log in live before the code expires. With that access, attackers can sell holdings, move crypto or withdraw funds, and they keep any personal details the victim typed in for follow-up scams.
Evidence
Twelve of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-09-17, including ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Google Safe Browsing. That is solid coverage for a site caught within days of registration. Google Safe Browsing listed it as social engineering, urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified Robinhood branding, and Spamhaus DBL classifies it as phishing. Beyond PhishDestroy, it appears on the MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL blocklists and in three AlienVault OTX threat pulses.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2026-09-15 and hosted on Namecheap's own network in the US, so the whole operation sat with a single provider. Registration, detection and shutdown all happened within about three days. That fits a disposable setup built for one short campaign. The TLS certificate came from SSL.com, so the browser padlock showed the connection was encrypted but said nothing about whether the site was genuine.
