mail.robinhood-cashback.com posed as a Robinhood promotion under the page title "Robinhood Exclusive Cashback". It targeted Robinhood customers, the people most likely to believe a reward from the brokerage was waiting for them. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-17. It went offline on 2026-09-18, and its DNS was still inactive when we last checked on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
The lure is an exclusive cashback reward that appears to come from Robinhood. Pages like this usually ask the visitor to sign in or verify the account before the reward can be claimed. That sign-in form is the trap. Anything typed into it, including email, password, one-time 2FA codes or identity and payment details, goes to the operators. With working credentials and a live code, an attacker can take over a brokerage account, sell holdings, move crypto or redirect withdrawals. The "mail" prefix on the hostname makes the address look like part of an official email or notification system.
Evidence
On 2026-09-19, 17 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They included the crypto-focused ChainPatrol along with BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. Google Safe Browsing lists it as social engineering, so Chrome and other browsers that use Safe Browsing will warn visitors. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and recognised Robinhood branding on it. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing, which helps mail filters block messages that link to it.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2026-09-15, only two days before PhishDestroy detected it. It was hosted on Namecheap's network in the US. A Sectigo domain-validated certificate gave it the browser padlock, which only proves control of the domain and says nothing about who runs it. Registration, detection and takedown all happened within four days, a typical pattern for disposable phishing domains.
What to do
If you entered anything on this page, change your Robinhood password right away, and change it on any other site where you used the same password. Then reset your two-factor authentication. Review recent logins, trades, transfers and linked bank accounts, and contact Robinhood support about anything you don't recognise. Treat any cashback or reward message that asks you to log in through a link as suspect, and open the app directly instead. Defenders should block the domain and its parent robinhood-cashback.com, search mail logs for messages containing it, and watch for newly registered lookalikes built around Robinhood rewards.
