PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-09-13. As of 2026-10-19 the domain still resolves, but the page content no longer loads.
How the scam works
Impersonation pages like this copy the look and wording of a trusted institution so visitors believe they are on the official AOK site. A page about covered services such as nutrition counseling gives the operator an easy reason to ask for sign-up details: name, address, date of birth, insurance number, login credentials or bank information for a supposed reimbursement or booking. Anything entered goes to the operator and can be reused for account takeover, identity fraud or convincing follow-up scams that reference the victim's real insurance relationship.
Evidence
On 2026-09-21, 18 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. That is a meaningful share for a site with no obvious crypto or malware lure. Among the vendors were BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, ADMINUSLabs, CyRadar and Chong Lua Dao. The domain also appears in five AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tracked it independently. It is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain has nothing to do with AOK's name. It was registered through Namecheap on 2026-06-11, about three months before PhishDestroy detected it, so it sat unused or quietly active for weeks before the AOK lure was spotted. The site sits behind Cloudflare, with the edge address geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server. A free Google Trust Services certificate supplies the padlock, so HTTPS alone says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
What to do
If you entered an AOK login on this site, change that password right away and turn on two-factor authentication wherever it is offered. Change the password on any other account that shares it. If you gave your insurance number, personal details or bank data, contact AOK through its official channels and alert your bank. Then watch for unexpected letters, calls or emails that cite your insurance details, because these often follow such leaks. Defenders should block kleihger.com at DNS and proxy level and search mail logs for links to it. AOK-themed messages pointing to unrelated domains should be treated as suspected phishing.
