How the scam works
Voting lures depend on urgency and social pressure. A friend's account or a direct message asks you to 'vote' in a poll. The page then asks you to sign in with an existing account, enter a phone number or verification code, or connect something to confirm your identity. Whatever you submit goes to the operators, who typically take over the account and use it to send the same vote request to your contacts. The redirect lets the domain act as a gateway that passes victims to the next stage of the scheme.
Evidence
Six of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-19: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. The count is modest, but it comes from several independent vendors, which supports our classification.
