dcentwalletdefi.app is a phishing site that impersonates D'CENT, the hardware wallet brand. It targets people who own or are shopping for a D'CENT device. Its page title reads "D'CENTc | Secure Crypto Wallet - Top Hardware Wallet Solution", which copies the vendor's marketing language but contains a stray letter in the brand name. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-19. The site has been offline since 2026-10-09, with its content blocked by the provider, and was still down when last checked on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
Hardware wallet impersonation pages copy the look of the real vendor and add a "DeFi" angle in the domain name. They lure owners into a fake setup, sync, firmware or wallet-connection step. That step usually asks for the device's recovery phrase or a wallet signature. A hardware wallet is only as safe as its seed: anyone who types those words into a website gives the operators full control of every account derived from it. They can then empty those accounts from their own devices, and the victim cannot reverse the transfers.

On 2026-09-29, 12 of 91 VirusTotal engines labeled the domain malicious, including alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, CyRadar, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Gridinsoft. That is a minority of engines, but the flags come from several unrelated vendors. Wallet-focused blocklists agree: MetaMask and SEAL both list the domain alongside PhishDestroy. It also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tracked it independently.

The domain was registered through Name.com, Inc. on 2026-06-25, roughly twelve weeks before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests the domain was held in reserve or ran quietly before it drew attention. The site was hosted on Amazon.com, Inc. cloud infrastructure in the United States. Its Let's Encrypt certificate only gave it the padlock that visitors often mistake for a sign of legitimacy.
What to do
If you entered your D'CENT recovery phrase on this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new wallet with a freshly generated seed on a reset device, and move any remaining funds to it immediately. If you connected a wallet or signed anything there, revoke token approvals with a trusted approval checker and watch the account for unexpected transfers. Remember that no legitimate hardware wallet vendor will ever ask you to type your seed into a website.
