PhishDestroy classifies it as an e-commerce scam: a fake online shop built to take payments and customer data rather than deliver products. We first flagged it on 2026-10-01, and as of 2026-10-19 the site was still online with its shop content live.
How the scam works
Fake shops like this copy the look of a legitimate retailer, list products at attractive prices and push visitors toward checkout quickly. The repeated "Ambient Webshop" branding in the page title is meant to make the store look established. Victims who order typically lose the money they paid, receive nothing or a worthless substitute, and hand over their name, address, email and card details, which can be reused for further fraud.
Evidence
Thirteen of 91 security engines on VirusTotal flagged the domain when it was checked on 2026-10-01. The vendors include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, G-Data, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and Chong Lua Dao. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and specifically identified the page as a fake shop, which matches our classification. The domain is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-04-09, nearly six months before we detected it. That gap suggests the operators prepared the domain well in advance of running the shop. The site is served from an IP address in the United States on a network operated by Malakmadze Web LLC, which is registered in Georgia. The disposable .shop name and the generic "ambienttech" branding are common patterns among short-lived storefront scams.
What to do
If you placed an order, contact your bank or card issuer immediately to dispute the charge and request a chargeback. Block the card if you entered its details. Do not make any further payments, even if the shop asks for "customs" or "shipping" fees. Keep your order confirmations and payment receipts, then report the shop to your local police and consumer protection authority. If you created an account, change that password everywhere you reused it, and watch for phishing emails that mention your order. Defenders should block the domain at the DNS or proxy level and watch for lookalike .shop domains that use the same Ambient webshop branding.
