PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

rainbetsweden.se posed as a Swedish branch of Rainbet, the cryptocurrency casino and sportsbook, under the page title "Rainbet Sverige - Krypto Casino, Sport & 15+ Kryptovalutor." The Swedish-language branding and the .se domain show it was built for players in Sweden who would expect a local version of the brand. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-08. The site has been dead since 2026-09-13, and its DNS was still inactive when we checked again on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake casino fronts copy a real gambling brand closely enough that visitors trust them with their money and accounts. The "15+ Kryptovalutor" pitch invites players to deposit crypto or log in. Funds sent to deposit addresses on a cloned casino go to the operators, not to a gaming balance, and cannot be recovered. Login forms on such pages collect account credentials. Where a wallet-connect option is offered, a signature request can hand an attacker control over tokens.

Evidence

Eight of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-09-11: ChainPatrol, Bfore.Ai PreCrime, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky and SOCRadar. The mix includes crypto-specific scanners and established enterprise filters, so the verdict does not rest on one source. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy's. MetaMask's listing means its wallet warns users before they interact with the site. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference the domain as well.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-08-07 through Ascio Inc., about a month before PhishDestroy detected it. That is a short lifespan typical of disposable brand clones. The site sat behind Cloudflare, with the address geolocated to Canada, so the true origin server stayed hidden behind the proxy. It went offline just five days after our first detection.

What to do

If you deposited crypto on this site, treat the funds as lost. Ignore anyone who offers paid recovery, because these offers are a common follow-up scam. If you entered a Rainbet or email password here, change it everywhere you reused it and turn on two-factor authentication. If you connected a wallet, review and revoke token approvals with a trusted approval checker, and move remaining assets if you signed anything unfamiliar. Only reach Rainbet through its official domain. Defenders should block rainbetsweden.se and watch for new Rainbet lookalikes, especially localized country-code domains.
