PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

dpd.bunker.ink was a phishing page dressed up as DPD Local, the UK parcel delivery service, aimed at people expecting a package. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-06. The site went offline on 2026-09-11, and as of 2026-10-19 it is dead, with its DNS no longer resolving.

How the scam works

Delivery-brand phishing usually starts with an SMS or email claiming a DPD parcel is on hold, needs a redelivery slot or has a small unpaid fee. The link leads to a page like this one, titled "DPD Local" and styled to look like the real tracking flow. The victim is asked for their name, address, phone number and then payment card details to settle the supposed charge. That information is used for card fraud and resold, and it often feeds follow-up calls from fake bank staff who try to talk victims into approving transfers.

Evidence

Eleven of 89 VirusTotal engines marked the domain as malicious in a 2026-09-16 check. The vendors that flagged it include alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, ESET, Fortinet, G-Data, Google Safe Browsing, Gridinsoft and Seclookup. Google Safe Browsing classifies it as social engineering, so Chrome and other browsers that use it showed warnings. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified DPD branding on the page. The domain is also listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-08-22, about two weeks before PhishDestroy detected it, and it lasted only five days after that before going dark. A short lifespan like this is typical of parcel-scam campaigns that burn through domains quickly. The site ran behind Cloudflare, Inc. (Canada), which hides the real origin server. Its certificate from Google Trust Services means the padlock in the browser said nothing about whether the site was legitimate.

What to do

If you entered card details, call your bank now, cancel the card and dispute any charges you don't recognize. If you shared your address or phone number, expect follow-up scam calls or texts. Never approve payments or read out one-time codes to anyone claiming to be your bank or DPD. Check real deliveries only through the DPD app or by typing the official address yourself. Defenders should block bunker.ink subdomains, search mail and SMS gateway logs for links to this domain, and warn users that DPD fee requests are a common lure.

Recommendations & Advice for Victims

Choose the steps that match what you shared. Keep a copy of this report alongside your own records.

What should I do immediately?

Urgent

Stop using the suspicious site. Open the real service through its official app or an address you already trust.

  • Change all passwords — email, exchange accounts, anything that shares the same password
  • Enable 2FA using an authenticator app (not SMS). Disable SMS-based recovery
  • Freeze cards if you entered banking details on the phishing site

What information should I collect for my report?

FBI guidelines

Keep original emails, receipts, messages and screenshots in a secure place. A factual timeline helps the receiving authority understand what happened. IC3 evidence guidance ↗

  • Payment records — if you paid, save the receipt, amount, date, payment provider and recipient details.
  • Exact dates & times — of each transaction and first contact with scammer
  • Screenshots — scam website, chat messages, emails, wallet transactions, social media
  • All URLs & domains used by the scammer (including dpd.bunker.ink)
  • Communications — emails, texts, phone numbers, usernames the scammer used

Even if you don't have all details — file a report anyway. Partial information still helps investigations.

Where should I report the scam?

  • FBI IC3 — Internet Crime Complaint Center (US federal reporting)
  • Europol — European cybercrime reporting (EU)
  • Your bank or payment provider — contact its fraud team promptly through official contact details if money or card information was exposed.
  • Local police — creates an official record, even if they can't act immediately

A report is not a guarantee of recovery or investigation, but prompt, accurate transaction data can help authorities and service providers trace the incident.

How do phishing scams typically work?

  • Fake websites — pixel-perfect clones of legitimate sites with slightly altered domains
  • Pig butchering — trust built over weeks via Telegram/WhatsApp/dating apps, then money stolen
  • Recovery scams — fraudsters pose as recovery agents and demand upfront fees. Never share a seed phrase or pay before independently verifying the provider
  • AI-powered scams — deepfakes, automated phishing, and AI-generated sites making fraud harder to detect

How can I protect myself in the future?

  • Bookmark official sites — never click links from emails, DMs, or ads
  • Verify domains — check on PhishDestroy before interacting. Check HTTPS, spelling, domain age
  • "Too good to be true" = scam — guaranteed returns, celebrity endorsements, urgent deadlines
