Overview

sitemv26mpbvjio8.cfd is a phishing page that impersonates Flare Network. It presents itself as "Flare: The blockchain for data" and targets people who hold FLR or use apps in the Flare ecosystem. PhishDestroy flagged it on 2026-10-10, the same day the domain was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still listed as alive, but its DNS no longer resolved to active content, so the domain could be pointed at a live page again at any time.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages like this copy a project's branding so a visitor believes they are on the official Flare site. The usual next step is a prompt to connect a wallet, claim a reward or airdrop, or "verify" an account. That prompt leads to a malicious signature or token approval, or to a form that asks for a recovery phrase. Either way the victim gives up control of their funds, and on-chain transfers cannot be reversed. The random-looking .cfd name matches nothing official, so it most likely reaches victims through links in social posts, ads or direct messages.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the page malicious and recognised the Flare Network brand in its content. On 2026-10-14, 16 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Emsisoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. Several established vendors agreeing within four days of registration is a strong signal. The wallet-focused blocklists of MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL also list the domain alongside PhishDestroy, so many wallet users are warned before the page loads.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-10-10 and was caught that same day. This fits a disposable domain set up for a short campaign. Traffic runs through Cloudflare in the US, which hides the origin server behind a shared proxy address. The Let's Encrypt certificate gives the page a padlock, and that padlock says nothing about who runs it.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to this site, revoke any token approvals or permissions you granted using a reputable approval checker. Then move your remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you typed in a recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer everything out at once to a wallet with a new phrase. Reach Flare only through its official channels and bookmarks, never through links in messages. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for similar random .cfd names that use Flare branding.
