PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

sitemuy1f0irk5nh.cfd is an impersonation phishing page posing as Flare Network. It uses Flare's own tagline, "Flare: The blockchain for data", as its page title to pass as the real project. It targets Flare users and FLR token holders. PhishDestroy flagged it on 2026-10-07, the same day the domain was registered. On 2026-10-19 the domain still responded, but its content no longer resolved.

How the scam works

Pages like this copy a crypto project's branding so the visitor believes they are on the official site. The page then asks for whatever lets the operator take funds. That can be connecting a wallet and signing a transaction or token approval, or typing a recovery phrase into a fake "claim", "migration" or "sync" form. A signed approval lets the attacker move the approved tokens. A seed phrase hands over the whole wallet on every chain it controls. In both cases the theft is immediate and cannot be reversed on-chain.

Evidence

On 2026-10-11, 11 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Kaspersky, Fortinet, G-Data, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai and CRDF. That count is modest, but it comes from several unrelated vendors. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified Flare Network as the imitated brand. The domain sits on the MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, so many wallet users will already see a warning. It also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-10-07 and caught that same day. This is typical of throwaway domains spun up for a short campaign. The random-looking name on a cheap .cfd extension points the same way. Traffic runs through Cloudflare in the US, which hides the real origin server. The Let's Encrypt certificate only means the padlock icon proves nothing about legitimacy.

What to do

If you connected a wallet here, review and revoke any token approvals granted around your visit, using a trusted approval-management tool. If you entered a recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet on a clean device and move any remaining assets there immediately. Reach Flare only through bookmarks or links from its verified official channels, never through ads or direct messages. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and check logs for visits since 2026-10-07. Report sightings to Cloudflare and the registrar so the domain is suspended rather than left dormant.
