PhishDestroy threat report
providuscreditunion.bond is an impersonation phishing site presenting itself as Providus Credit Union. Its page title reads "Home - Providus Credit Union" to pass as the institution's real homepage. It targets credit union members and anyone searching for the brand's online banking. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-23, and on 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving content.
Bank and credit union impersonation pages copy the look of a legitimate homepage and route visitors to a fake sign-in form. Whatever is typed there, including member number, username, password and often one-time codes or security answers, goes straight to the operators. With those details they can log into the real account, change contact settings, and move money out before the victim notices. Some kits also ask for card numbers, PINs or identity documents under the pretext of "verification".
On 2026-10-03, 16 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Detections came from alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Chong Lua Dao, CRDF, CyRadar, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and Fortinet. A cluster of mainstream security vendors agreeing points to a real phishing page rather than a single noisy signal. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and matched the page to a generic banking template. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc on 2026-07-16, about ten weeks before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests it was set up in advance and kept in reserve. The site is hosted on FranTech Solutions in Luxembourg, a location with no obvious tie to a credit union's own infrastructure. It serves a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the browser padlock proves only an encrypted connection, not that the site belongs to the brand.
Do not enter anything on this site. If you already submitted credentials, contact your credit union through the number on your card or statement. Change your online banking password and reset any security questions. Review recent transactions and payees, and ask the institution to watch for fraudulent transfers. If you shared card details, have the card cancelled, and treat any later calls or texts "from the bank" as possible follow-up fraud. Security teams should block the domain and its hosting IP, and search mail and proxy logs for visits or lures referencing it.
