fortnex.live is a phishing page that imitates Epic Games. The name is a near-copy of Fortnite, so it targets players looking for in-game rewards or account services. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-19. As of 2026-10-19 the domain is still registered and listed as live, but its DNS no longer serves the phishing content.
How the scam works
Gaming impersonation sites like this one usually lure players with free V-Bucks, rare skins or account "verification," then present a fake Epic Games sign-in page. Anything typed there, including email, password and often a 2FA code, goes straight to the operator. With those, the operator can take over the Epic account, empty its purchased items and stored balance, and resell or ransom it. The page title is just the bare domain, so there is no visible branding in browser tabs or search results.
Evidence
urlscan.io rated the site malicious and identified Epic Games branding on the page, which matches our classification. On VirusTotal, 9 of 91 engines flagged it as of 2026-09-30, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, G-Data, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, LevelBlue and Seclookup. That count is modest, but these are separate vendors reaching the same verdict. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as spam, and it appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-08-05 through Global Domain Group LLC, about six weeks before we detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains that are set up, used briefly and then abandoned. It was hosted in Turkey on the M/S ROBI TRADERS network and used a free, automatically issued Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser said nothing about whether the site was legitimate.
What to do
If you entered your Epic Games login on this site, change your Epic password right away. Change it anywhere else you used the same password, and turn on two-factor authentication through an authenticator app. In your Epic account, check for unfamiliar logins, changed email addresses, linked console or social accounts you don't recognize, and purchases you didn't make, then contact Epic support if anything was altered. Real free V-Buck offers do not exist outside Epic's own store. Security teams should block the domain and its hosting IP and watch for lookalike domains that copy the Fortnite name.
