It targets hobbyists, families and outdoor enthusiasts shopping for niche building hardware and climbing equipment. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-13. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and its storefront was fully live.
How the scam works
The page title, "Treehouse Supplies and Gear – Be in a Tree", presents a specialist outdoor retailer. Shops like this lure buyers with a polished catalogue and tempting prices on gear that is hard to find elsewhere. They then take payment at checkout. Victims typically lose the money they paid, and they also hand over their name, delivery address, phone number and card details. That information can later be reused for fraud or follow-up scams. Orders either never ship or arrive as cheap substitutes, and refund requests go unanswered.
Evidence
urlscan.io rated the site malicious and specifically flagged it as a fake shop, which matches our own classification. On VirusTotal, 8 of 92 engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-17. The vendors were alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue, SOCRadar and Webroot. That count is modest, but it comes from several unrelated security vendors. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers are tracking it too.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Spaceship, Inc. on 2026-03-25, roughly six and a half months before PhishDestroy detected it. That long gap suggests the shop may have been prepared well in advance or run quietly before drawing attention. It is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in Georgia. The free Let's Encrypt certificate means the padlock in the browser proves nothing about the seller's legitimacy.
What to do
Do not order anything from this site. If you already paid by card, contact your bank right away to dispute the charge and request a replacement card. If you used PayPal or a similar service, open a buyer-protection claim. Watch your statements for unfamiliar charges, and treat any later emails or calls about "your order" as possible phishing.
