PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

bagsmarts.shop poses as a storefront for BAGSMART, the maker of backpacks, toiletry bags and travel organizers. The domain adds a single letter to the brand name, and its German-language page title, "Rucksäcke, Kulturbeutel, Reiseorganizer und Zubehör | BAGSMART", shows it is aimed at German-speaking shoppers. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-10. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its shop content.

How the scam works

Impersonation shops like this copy a real brand's catalog and styling, then advertise steep discounts to draw buyers away from the official store. Shoppers who check out hand over their name, address, phone number and card details. Typically the goods never arrive, or something cheap and unrelated is shipped. The card data can then be reused for further fraudulent charges, and the personal details can feed follow-up phishing.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the site malicious and specifically identified it as a fake shop, which matches our classification. On 2026-10-15, 9 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged it, including alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and SOCRadar. That is a minority of engines, but the vendors are independent of one another and agree with each other. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as a spam domain, and it appears in 3 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-05-18, roughly five months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap leaves room for ad campaigns and search listings to build up traffic first. The site is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in Georgia and uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate. The padlock in the browser only means the connection is encrypted. It does not mean the shop is genuine.

What to do
