The domain neohox.com was set up to trick people into thinking it belongs to MetaMask, a popular cryptocurrency wallet. Scammers behind this site likely aimed to steal login credentials, private keys, or other sensitive information from anyone who visited. This kind of brand impersonation is a serious threat because the fake site can look nearly identical to the real one, making it easy to fall for.

Our investigation found clear evidence of malicious intent. The domain was registered on April 29, 2026, through Fewmoretaps OU d/b/a Trustname.com, a registrar often associated with suspicious domains. Security tools are unanimous: 17 out of 95 antivirus engines on VirusTotal flagged neohox.com as malicious, and it appears on three separate security blocklists. The site used a Let's Encrypt SSL certificate (serial E7) to appear legitimate, but the underlying IP address 69.67.173.34 has a poor reputation. Fortunately, the site is now offline, but that doesn't mean the threat is gone—similar domains may appear.
