PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

sparkdex.fun poses as SparkDEX, presented in its page title as the best DEX on the Flare Network. The site targets cryptocurrency traders, particularly those interested in Flare Network-based decentralized exchange platforms. PhishDestroy first identified it on 2026-09-27, just two days after the domain was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the site remains alive, though its content is DNS-inactive.

How the scam works

Fake exchange platforms like this one lure users by mimicking the interface and branding of a legitimate trading platform. Victims are encouraged to connect their wallets or deposit funds to begin trading, at which point the site either drains connected wallets through malicious contract approvals, harvests private keys or seed phrases, or simply absorbs deposits with no intention of allowing withdrawals. The SparkDEX branding and Flare Network framing are designed to appeal to users familiar with that ecosystem, lending false credibility to what is a fraudulent operation.

Evidence

Four of 92 antivirus and threat-intelligence engines on VirusTotal flagged this domain as malicious as of 2026-10-10, with detections from alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, and SOCRadar. The domain appears on three blocklists: PhishDestroy, MetaMask, and SEAL, the last of which is specifically focused on crypto-ecosystem threats. Four OTX threat-intelligence pulses have also been published against it. Detection coverage is relatively low in absolute numbers, but the combination of crypto-specific blocklists and multiple independent vendors provides solid corroboration of the classification.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-25 through Eranet International Limited, giving it a lifespan of only two days before PhishDestroy detected it.
