PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

gammu.online is an impersonation phishing site that PhishDestroy first added to its blocklist on 2026-07-27. Sites in this category copy a trusted service so visitors believe they are on the real one. The domain is now dead. It has been offline since 2026-09-15, its DNS no longer resolves, and it was still down when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages copy the look of a legitimate login, wallet or support portal, then collect whatever the victim types in. That can include passwords, one-time codes, recovery phrases or private keys, which the operators use to take over accounts or empty wallets. The page title showed the stock "Welcome to Firebase Hosting" placeholder, not a branded login screen, while our classification is impersonation phishing.

Evidence

Five of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain when it was scanned on 2026-09-14: alphaMountain.ai, Chong Lua Dao, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a modest count, but it comes from vendors that work independently of each other. Chong Lua Dao specifically tracks scam and phishing sites. Three AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference the domain, which shows other researchers tracked it too. Among the blocklists listed here, only PhishDestroy carries it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through NameCheap, Inc. and pointed to an address on Fastly, Inc.'s network in the US. That network serves Google's Firebase Hosting, which matches both the page title and the Google Trust Services (WR3) certificate. This setup lets an operator put up a convincing HTTPS page in minutes, with a valid padlock, and abandon it just as fast. The site went offline the day after the VirusTotal scan.

What to do

If you entered a password or one-time code on gammu.online, change that password on the real service and on any account that reuses it. Then reset two-factor authentication and sign out other active sessions. If you typed a seed phrase or private key, treat that wallet as compromised and move your funds to a new wallet created on a clean device. Defenders should keep the domain blocked even though it is offline, since dead phishing domains are sometimes revived. They should also search mail and proxy logs for visits between 2026-07-27 and 2026-09-15 to find users who may have been exposed.
