Overview

connecctips.com is an impersonation phishing site posing as connectIPS, the Nepali interbank payment platform. Its name differs from the real brand by a doubled letter, a typo trick aimed at users who mistype or skim links. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-15, the day the domain was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the site still responded, but its DNS was inactive.

How the scam works

Lookalike domains like this copy the branding of a trusted payment service so victims believe they are on the real login page. Victims are then prompted for their username, password, one-time codes or transaction PINs. Those details let criminals take over the account and move money out. The page title currently reads "Access Restricted — connectIPS," which shows a blocked-access notice rather than a login form, while our classification is impersonation phishing.

Evidence

On 2026-10-19, VirusTotal showed 4 of 92 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and SOCRadar. That detection rate is still low, which is typical for a domain only days old. PhishDestroy lists it on its blocklist, and the brand-misspelled name with a connectIPS-titled page supports the impersonation classification.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-10-15 through NameSilo, LLC. It resolves to 216.150.1.193 on Amazon.com, Inc. infrastructure in the US. Its TLS certificate was issued by Let's Encrypt (YR2), so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

If you entered connectIPS credentials, PINs or one-time codes on this domain, change your password right away using the official app or a bookmarked address. Then contact your bank and connectIPS support to report possible account compromise and review recent transactions. Turn on every available account alert, and do not reuse that password anywhere else.
