PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

cleanusdt.money presents itself as a USDT mixing service under the headline "USDT Mixer — Compare Fees, Privacy Modes & Networks". PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page aimed at holders of Tether's USDT stablecoin who want to obscure where their coins came from. We first flagged the domain on 2026-10-08. As of 2026-10-19 it was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

Fake mixers rely on a promise that cannot be checked in advance: send your USDT, choose a privacy mode and network, and receive "clean" coins at a fresh address. The page's fee and mode comparisons make the service look established and transparent. In schemes of this type, the victim sends funds to a deposit address the operator controls and either gets nothing back or is asked for extra "processing" payments before any release. Because the transfer goes straight from the victim's wallet on-chain, the loss is immediate and usually irreversible. The page title promotes a mixer fee-comparison service, while our classification is impersonation phishing.

Evidence

Independent detection is still thin. On 2026-10-16, 4 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. Four AlienVault OTX pulses reference it, so other researchers are tracking the same activity. PhishDestroy is the only blocklist listing it so far. Most browsers and security tools will therefore not warn visitors yet.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-21 through Devexpanse Ltd d/b/a Regery.com, just 17 days before we detected it. That short gap points to a site built for a quick campaign rather than a long-running business. It resolves to 188.114.97.3 on Cloudflare's network (AS13335, US). Cloudflare's proxy hides the real origin server, which slows down direct takedown at the hosting level.

What to do

Do not send USDT or any other asset to this site, and do not pay any follow-up fee it requests to "release" a deposit. That money is lost too. If you already sent funds, record the transaction hashes, the deposit address and screenshots of the page, then report the address to Tether and to the exchange the funds came from. Contacting them quickly gives the best chance of a freeze. Report the theft to your national cybercrime unit as well. Defenders should block cleanusdt.money at DNS and web proxies and add it to threat feeds. Abuse reports to Cloudflare and Regery.com, citing the impersonation classification, help speed up a takedown.
