PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

bitxonetwork.sbs is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as "BitXo Network" and targets people who expect a genuine crypto platform under that name. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-04, only days after the domain appeared. On 2026-10-19 the server still answered but the domain's DNS was inactive. Treat it as dormant rather than gone, because a domain in this state can be pointed at a working page again.

How the scam works

Sites like this copy the look and name of a real crypto service so that visitors trust what they see and act on it. The "BitXo Network" branding is the hook. Once the visitor is convinced, these pages typically ask them to sign in, deposit crypto, enter a recovery phrase, or connect a wallet. Anything typed or sent goes straight to the operators, and that can mean account takeover, deposits that cannot be withdrawn, or a wallet emptied with a stolen seed phrase.

Evidence

Seven of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-10-06: alphaMountain.ai, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, Netcraft, SOCRadar, Webroot and desenmascara.me. The count is modest, but those vendors work independently of each other, and Netcraft and Fortinet both run dedicated phishing feeds. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as spam. It also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses alongside the PhishDestroy blocklist entry.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2026-09-29 and was being caught by 2026-10-04. That short gap fits a throwaway domain set up for a quick campaign, and the cheap .sbs extension points the same way. It is hosted at 163.61.188.5 on the NEWDHAKAHARDWARE-AS-AP network, which is registered to a Bangladeshi operator while the address geolocates to the US.

What to do

If you signed in to this site, change that password wherever you reused it, turn on app-based 2FA, and review recent account activity. If you entered a seed phrase or private key, move all remaining assets right away to a new wallet with a fresh phrase. If you connected a wallet, revoke any token approvals granted during the visit. Any crypto sent as a deposit or "fee" should be treated as lost, so do not pay further charges promised to unlock it, and report the transaction to your exchange. Defenders should block the domain and 163.61.188.5 at DNS and proxy level and watch for lookalike BitXo domains registered in the same window.
