PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

birdrockcoffee.shop is an impersonation phishing page that poses as the storefront of Bird Rock coffee roasters under the title "Coffee Roasters | Bird Rock". It targets coffee buyers who expect to order from the real roaster. PhishDestroy first saw the domain on 2026-10-16. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

Fake shops like this copy a real brand's name, look and product range, then appear in search results, ads or social posts, often with discounts that make the order seem worthwhile. The "Coffee Roasters | Bird Rock" title gives the site the appearance of the genuine roaster's store. At checkout, victims submit their name, shipping address, email and payment card details. They then lose the money they paid, receive nothing or a cheap substitute, and the card data can be reused for further fraud.

Evidence

urlscan.io rates the site malicious and specifically flags it as a fake shop. On VirusTotal, 6 of 92 engines flag the domain as of 2026-10-16: alphaMountain.ai, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and Webroot. That count is modest, so many security tools may not block it yet. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as spam, it appears in 4 AlienVault OTX pulses, and it is on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-05-06 through Dynadot Inc., about five months before PhishDestroy detected it. It resolves to 23.252.79.177 on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in Georgia (GE). The site uses a TLS certificate from Let's Encrypt (YE2), so the padlock in the browser shows only that the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about whether the shop is legitimate.

What to do

If you ordered from this site, call your bank or card issuer right away to dispute the charge and request a replacement card. Change any password you used there, and reuse it nowhere else. Watch for follow-up phishing sent to the email address or phone number you entered, and buy coffee only through the brand's official channels. Defenders should block the domain and its IP at DNS, proxy and email gateways. They should also check logs for user visits or form submissions and report the domain to the registrar and hosting provider for takedown.
