PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

bestchange.guru is an impersonation phishing site posing as BestChange, the well-known monitor that compares cryptocurrency exchange rates across exchangers. It targets people looking for a good rate to swap or cash out crypto. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-16. On 2026-10-19 the domain was still online and redirecting visitors.

How the scam works

The page carries the title "BestChange — Cryptocurrency Exchange Rates Monitoring" to look like the genuine aggregator. Lookalike rate monitors of this kind typically send users to exchangers controlled by the scammers. These exchangers accept the deposit and never deliver the promised coins or fiat. Some copies also collect login details, email addresses or contact information for follow-up fraud. Anyone who sends funds through such a listing should expect to lose the full amount, because crypto transfers cannot be reversed.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the site malicious and detected BestChange branding on the page. VirusTotal coverage is thin. Only 1 of 92 engines (Xcitium Verdict Cloud) flagged the domain at the 2026-10-16 check, so a clean result from most vendors does not mean the site is safe. Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-10-06 through Eranet International Limited, ten days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains. Traffic resolves to 104.21.44.239 on the Cloudflare, Inc. network, geolocated to Canada, which places the real origin server behind Cloudflare's proxy. The site uses a TLS certificate issued by Let's Encrypt (YE2), so the padlock in the browser says nothing about legitimacy.

What to do

Do not use any exchanger reached through bestchange.guru, and do not send it funds. If you already made a transfer, save the transaction hash, the receiving address and any chat or email history. Report the loss to your local police and to any exchange the funds passed through. If you entered a password or email on the site, change that password everywhere you reused it and turn on two-factor authentication. Defenders should block the domain at DNS, proxy and email gateways and send abuse reports to Cloudflare and Eranet International Limited.
