PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ajcustomhomes.au presents a fake Google sign-in page titled "Sign in - Google Accounts" on a domain whose name has nothing to do with Google. It targets anyone holding a Google account, including people whose email is the recovery address for crypto exchanges and wallets. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-11. It was still online when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Victims arrive through a link in an email, message or ad and see a copy of Google's login screen. Whatever email and password they type goes to the operators, not to Google. Some kits also ask for a one-time 2FA code and replay it immediately. A hijacked Google account can expose the whole inbox, saved passwords, Drive files and password-reset emails for exchanges. That makes it a gateway to draining crypto accounts tied to that address.

Evidence

On 2026-10-16, 10 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They included Kaspersky, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, DNS8, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a modest share, but these vendors work independently of each other. The domain also appears in 5 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so researchers outside PhishDestroy have tracked it. PhishDestroy is the only blocklist confirmed carrying it, so many browsers and filters may still let it load without a warning.

Infrastructure

The domain is registered through GoDaddy under Australia's .au namespace. It is hosted on WHG Hosting Services Ltd in Singapore. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so visitors see a padlock. The padlock only means the connection is encrypted, not that the page is genuinely Google.

What to do

If you entered your Google password here, change it now from Google's own site or app. Then sign out all other sessions and review the recovery phone, recovery email and connected third-party apps. Turn on 2-Step Verification, preferably a passkey or security key. If you also typed a verification code, assume it was used and check recent security activity. Change passwords on exchanges and services that send resets to that Gmail address, and look for new forwarding rules or filters in your inbox. Defenders should block ajcustomhomes.au at DNS, proxy and mail gateways and search logs for users who visited it. They should also report the page to the hosting provider and registrar.

How do phishing scams typically work?
