How the scam works
Impersonation pages like this borrow a trusted-sounding brand, here "Xpay", to persuade visitors that they are using a legitimate payment platform. The visitor is then pushed to sign in, enter personal or payment details, send a deposit, or connect a crypto wallet. Whatever is handed over goes straight to the operators. That can mean stolen credentials, funds that never come back, or wallet permissions that let assets be moved out. The hyphenated domain on the cheap .cam extension is a typical way to look close enough to a real brand to pass a quick glance.
Evidence
On 2026-09-24, VirusTotal showed 7 of 89 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That count is modest, but it comes from unrelated vendors reaching the same verdict independently. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing, and MetaMask and SEAL block it alongside PhishDestroy. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it, showing that other researchers are tracking it too.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Gname.com Pte. Ltd. on 2026-09-14, just one day before PhishDestroy detected it. That suggests it was set up specifically for this campaign rather than repurposed from an older site. It sits behind Cloudflare's network with a Canadian address, which conceals the real origin server. A free Let's Encrypt certificate gives it the padlock icon, so the padlock alone says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
What to do
If you entered a password on x-pay.cam, change it everywhere you reuse it and turn on app-based two-factor authentication. If you sent money or a deposit, stop all further payments, including any "fees" requested to release funds, and contact your bank or the platform you paid from. If you connected a wallet, review and revoke token approvals granted during the visit. If you signed anything, move your remaining assets to a fresh wallet. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, hunt for it in mail and web logs, and report it to Cloudflare and the registrar.
