worldliberty-financial.live is an impersonation phishing page built around the World Liberty Financial name. A hyphen and a .live ending make it look like a plausible project address. It targets crypto investors and wallet holders who go looking for the project's token or official site. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-11. When last checked on 2026-10-19, the domain still answered but its DNS was inactive, so the phishing content was no longer being served.
How the scam works
Impersonation sites like this borrow the identity of a well-known crypto project to make a visitor drop their guard. The page title is simply the domain name, so there is no branded title to tip a careful visitor off. Lookalike pages for token projects typically push a claim, presale or dashboard that asks the visitor to connect a wallet, sign a transaction or type in a recovery phrase. Any of these can hand control of funds to the operator. Signing a malicious approval or revealing a seed phrase can cost a victim everything held in that wallet.
Evidence
On 2026-09-20, 12 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. The flagging vendors were ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CyRadar, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Gridinsoft. That is a minority of engines, but the list includes a crypto-specialist scanner alongside mainstream security vendors. MetaMask and SEAL list the domain, as does PhishDestroy, which means wallet-focused defenders reached the same verdict independently. Spamhaus carries it in its DBL as a phishing domain, and four AlienVault OTX pulses reference it.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2025-09-02 through OwnRegistrar, Inc., roughly a year before PhishDestroy detected it. The site sits on Trellian Pty. Limited's network, an Australian provider, at an address geolocated to the US. A Let's Encrypt certificate gave the page the padlock icon, which proves nothing about who runs it.
What to do
If you connected a wallet to this site, use a token-approval checker to revoke any permissions you granted. Then move your remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you entered a seed phrase or private key, treat that wallet as fully compromised and stop using it. Reach World Liberty Financial only through links you have verified from its official channels, and never through search ads or direct messages. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for similar hyphenated or alternate-TLD variants of the brand.
