PhishDestroy threat report
whatsappcampaign.online borrows WhatsApp's name to pitch itself as "What's Campaign | Local Android Campaign Management," a tool for running messaging campaigns from an Android phone. Its likely audience is small businesses, resellers and marketers looking for a way to blast messages through WhatsApp. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page and first flagged it on 2026-10-06. When last checked on 2026-10-19, the site was still online and redirecting visitors.
The page title describes a campaign-management product, while we classify the site as phishing that impersonates WhatsApp. Fake WhatsApp marketing tools usually work by getting the visitor to link their WhatsApp account to the service. They ask for a device-pairing QR scan, a phone number and verification code, or the install of an Android app outside the Play Store. A victim can lose control of their WhatsApp account, which can then be used to message their contacts with further scams. They may also end up with malicious software on the phone, or pay for a "subscription" that delivers nothing.
On 2026-10-07, VirusTotal showed 15 of 92 security engines flagging the domain. The flagging engines included BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, G-Data, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Criminal IP, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. That is a meaningful spread of established vendors for a site only weeks old. The domain is also listed on the PhishDestroy and Phishunt blocklists. It appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tracked it independently.
The domain was registered through Name.com, Inc. on 2026-08-31, about five weeks before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap is typical of a site that is set up quietly and then promoted. It is hosted on Amazon's network (AS16509) in the United States. Because the site now serves a redirect, its final destination can change without the domain itself changing.
If you scanned a QR code or entered a code from this site, open WhatsApp, go to Linked Devices and log out of any session you do not recognize. Then turn on two-step verification with a PIN. Never share the six-digit SMS code WhatsApp sends you with anyone. Uninstall any app you downloaded from the site and run a mobile security scan. If you paid, contact your bank or card issuer to dispute the charge, and warn your contacts in case your account was used to message them. Defenders should block the domain and follow its redirect target. It is also worth watching for lookalike domains that combine WhatsApp branding with words like "campaign" or "bulk."
