PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

webproex.com is an impersonation phishing site that presents itself under the page title "WEB3.AI" to pass as a legitimate crypto and AI platform. It targets crypto holders who expect a genuine Web3 service. PhishDestroy flagged it on 2026-09-15, the same day the domain was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its phishing content.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages like this copy the name and look of a crypto brand, here "WEB3.AI", so visitors trust the page before they act. The page then prompts the visitor to connect a wallet, sign a transaction, type in a recovery phrase, or deposit funds into what looks like an account. Each of these hands control to the operators. A signed approval lets them move tokens. A recovery phrase gives them the whole wallet. A deposit is simply gone. Losses are usually irreversible once they settle on-chain.

Evidence

Within ten days of registration, 12 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-09-25. The flagging vendors include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Gridinsoft. Google Safe Browsing also lists it, so Chrome and other browsers that use it should show a warning. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and tagged it as a crypto scam. The domain appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, Spamhaus lists it in its DBL as phishing, and five AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Cloudflare, Inc. on 2026-09-15 and was caught that same day. That points to a freshly created domain used for phishing rather than an older site that was compromised. The site sits behind Cloudflare's network, which hides the real origin server, and geolocates to Canada.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to this site, revoke every approval you granted it with a token-approval checker, and move remaining assets to a new wallet if you signed anything unusual. If you entered a recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet and transfer funds immediately. Do not send further "fees" or deposits to recover money, because these are part of the scam. Report any losses to your local cybercrime authority with transaction hashes. Defenders should block webproex.com at DNS and proxy level and alert users who may have reached it.
