PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

sitemulabog3ju4d.xyz is an impersonation phishing page posing as Firelight. It carried the title "Firelight – The Protection Layer for Digital Assets" and targeted crypto holders who expect to find the real Firelight service. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-29. The site has been offline since 2026-09-30 and was still unreachable when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page copies Firelight's branding and its pitch of protecting digital assets, so a visitor feels they are on the genuine service. Fake pages built around a security or staking product usually push the visitor to connect a wallet, approve a transaction or type in a recovery phrase in order to activate protection or claim a position. Any of those steps can hand an attacker control of the wallet. Funds that move after a signature or seed-phrase entry on a site like this generally cannot be recovered.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the page malicious and recognised Firelight branding on it, which directly supports the impersonation classification. Wallet-security blocklists from MetaMask, ScamSniffer and SEAL list the domain alongside PhishDestroy, and it appears in 3 AlienVault OTX threat pulses. VirusTotal coverage was thin. Only 2 of 91 engines, alphaMountain.ai and Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, flagged it on 2026-09-29, so most antivirus-style scanners would not have warned a visitor.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-28 through Eranet International Limited and was caught one day later. It went dark the day after that, which fits a throwaway domain meant to run for hours or days. The random-looking .xyz name has nothing to do with Firelight, so it relies entirely on links shared in ads, messages or social posts rather than on lookalike typing. Traffic passed through Cloudflare, Inc. (geolocated to CA), which masks the server actually hosting the content.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to this site, review your token approvals and revoke any you did not intend to grant, then move remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you entered a recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer everything to a new seed immediately, because revoking approvals will not help. Reach Firelight only through its official channels, never through links in direct messages or ads. Defenders should block the domain, hunt for other random .xyz domains carrying the same Firelight page title, and not rely on VirusTotal scores alone for fresh crypto phishing.

How do phishing scams typically work?
