PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

prismassets.fun is a crypto wallet drainer that impersonates Prism, a DeFi protocol, presenting itself as a legitimate rewards portal to lure cryptocurrency holders. The site displayed the title "PRISM Rewards · Prism", positioning itself as an official rewards claim page to attract Prism users and liquidity providers. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-10-16, just one day after the domain was registered on 2026-10-15. The site is now offline as of 2026-10-17, blocked at the hosting provider level.

How the scam works

The site posed as a Prism rewards distribution page, enticing users to connect their crypto wallets in order to claim supposed earnings or incentives. Once a visitor connects their wallet, a drainer script silently requests broad token approval permissions, allowing the attacker to transfer assets out of the victim's wallet without further interaction. This class of attack can drain all approved tokens in a single transaction, leaving the victim with no recourse after the fact. The fake rewards premise is a common lure designed to make urgency feel legitimate.

Evidence

At the time of checking on 2026-10-16, zero of 92 antivirus and URL-scanning engines on VirusTotal flagged the domain, reflecting how newly registered drainer sites routinely evade automated detection in their first hours of operation. Despite the clean VirusTotal score, Spamhaus classified the domain as DBL_SPAM on its Domain Block List, providing an independent signal of malicious use. Four threat-intelligence pulses on OTX also flag this domain. PhishDestroy's own analysis is the primary basis for the crypto drainer classification, and the domain appears on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-10-15 through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED, giving it a lifespan of just two days before going offline. It was hosted on Cloudflare's network (AS13335) on IP 104.21.73.224 in the United States, and used a Let's Encrypt TLS certificate issued under the YE1 authority, a free and automated option that adds a superficial appearance of legitimacy.
