PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

pendle-ecosystem.top is a phishing page posing as Pendle, the DeFi protocol for trading and fixing yield. It reused Pendle's own tagline in its page title, "Pendle - Liberating Yield", to pass as the real app for DeFi users. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-29. The site has been offline since 2026-09-30 and was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake DeFi front-ends like this copy the look of the genuine app and its familiar title. The "ecosystem" wording suggests an official extension of the protocol. Visitors arriving from ads, social posts or direct messages are asked to connect a wallet to claim rewards, deposit or manage yield positions. The transactions or signatures the page then requests are typically token approvals or transfers that hand control of the victim's assets to the attacker. Once a signature is approved, the funds can be moved out without any further action from the victim.

Evidence

Seven of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-09-29: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Ermes, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky and LevelBlue. That count is modest, but it came from independent vendors within a day of detection. More telling for wallet users, the domain is on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists as well as PhishDestroy's. That means wallet software and the security community both recognised it as a threat to crypto holders.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Eranet International Limited on 2026-09-27, just two days before we caught it. It went dark the day after detection. That short arc is typical of a disposable phishing domain built to catch victims quickly before being blocked. The site sat behind Cloudflare, with the visible address in Canada. That address belongs to the network edge, so it does not show where the real server was hosted.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to this site, use a token-approval checker to review and revoke any permissions you granted while on it. If you signed transactions you did not fully understand, move your remaining assets to a new wallet. If you entered a seed phrase or private key, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer everything immediately. Always reach Pendle through a bookmarked official address rather than links in messages. Defenders should block the domain and watch for lookalike Pendle domains on cheap TLDs registered in quick succession.

How do phishing scams typically work?
