PhishDestroy threat report
outlookmail.social is an impersonation phishing domain whose name is built to look like Microsoft's Outlook mail service. It targets people who trust anything that appears connected to their mailbox. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-10-06. On 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving content. The page currently presents itself as "Jay Chandra | Gravatar," a personal profile, while we classify the domain as impersonation phishing.
Lookalike mail domains rely on a familiar brand in the address bar to lower suspicion. A victim usually arrives through a link in an email or message, sees a name that resembles Outlook, and assumes the page is legitimate. These schemes aim to collect email login details or push the visitor toward further pages that harvest credentials. A hijacked mailbox gives the attacker password resets for other accounts, including exchanges and wallet services tied to that address. The profile-style page title does not change the risk of a domain that is named after a major email provider.
18 of 92 VirusTotal engines flag the domain as of 2026-10-06. That is a meaningful minority from vendors that work independently of each other. The flagging vendors include alphaMountain.ai, AlphaSOC, Bfore.Ai PreCrime, BitDefender, Chong Lua Dao, CRDF, CyRadar and ESET. Besides PhishDestroy, the Phishunt blocklist lists it. Three AlienVault OTX threat-intelligence pulses reference it, so other researchers are tracking this domain as well.
The domain was registered on 2026-07-19, roughly eleven weeks before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap is long enough for it to have been circulated quietly before anyone flagged it. Automattic Inc. is the registrar, and the site is hosted on Automattic's own network (AS2635) in the US. That fits the Gravatar-branded page it serves. The TLS certificate comes from Google Trust Services, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is trustworthy.
If you typed an Outlook or Microsoft password anywhere on this domain, change it immediately from the official Microsoft site. Turn on app-based two-factor authentication and sign out of all active sessions. Next, check your mailbox for forwarding rules or recovery details you did not add. Change passwords on any accounts that reset through that address, starting with crypto exchanges and financial services. Defenders should block outlookmail.social at the mail gateway and DNS layer, search mail logs for messages linking to it, and report it to Microsoft and the registrar for takedown.
