How the scam works
Fake HLTV pages exploit the trust players place in the brand. They usually draw visitors in through esports links shared in chats, comments or direct messages, often with a giveaway, vote or match-related hook. The cloned layout is designed to make a login prompt feel routine, and that prompt is how the credentials get captured. Anyone who signs in through such a page risks handing over their gaming account, and with it any inventory, items or balances tied to it.

VirusTotal shows 9 of 92 engines flagging the domain as of 2026-10-07. The vendors include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft and Kaspersky. The domain was registered through NameSilo, LLC on 2026-09-06, just four weeks before PhishDestroy caught it. That short gap is typical of lookalike domains set up for a single campaign. It resolves to 154.86.119.220, on the ExpressHost Ltd network (registered in GB), with the server located in the Netherlands. A free Let's Encrypt certificate gives it the padlock icon, which proves nothing about who runs the site.
What to do
If you logged in or entered any credentials on eu-hltv.com, change that password right away, and change it anywhere else you reused it. Turn on or reset two-factor authentication, sign out all active sessions, and check for unfamiliar devices, trade offers or changes to linked accounts. Use HLTV only by typing its genuine address yourself, and treat "regional" variants of the name with suspicion. Defenders should block the domain and its IP, and watch for similar HLTV lookalikes being shared in gaming communities.
