PhishDestroy threat report
benchmarkperformance.shop poses as a sports retailer under the page title "Performance Running". It targets shoppers looking for discounted running gear. We classify it as an e-commerce scam: a fake storefront that takes payment for goods that never arrive. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-13, and as of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its shop content.
Shops like this copy the look of a real sportswear store. They list running shoes and apparel at prices well below market to push quick checkouts. The buyer pays by card or another method and receives nothing, a cheap counterfeit, or tracking that leads nowhere. The checkout also collects the buyer's name, address, phone, email and payment details. That information can be reused for fraudulent charges or follow-up phishing. The "Performance Running" branding is generic enough to catch anyone searching for running deals rather than one specific brand.
Several independent sources back the classification. On 2026-10-17, 11 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft and LevelBlue. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and specifically identified the page as a fake shop. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as a spam domain, and four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it.
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-06-08, about four months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests the storefront may have been built or warmed up before it began drawing traffic. It is hosted on the Malakmadze Web LLC network in Georgia. Its HTTPS certificate comes from Let's Encrypt, so the browser padlock only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about whether the shop is genuine.
If you placed an order, contact your bank or card issuer now, report the charge as fraud, and request a chargeback. Cancel the card if its details were entered. Do not pay any extra "customs" or "shipping" fees the seller asks for. Expect phishing emails or calls that use your order details, and change the password anywhere you reused the one you set at this checkout. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and web proxy level, and payment providers should review any merchant accounts tied to it.
For this gTLD, the registrar above operates under an ICANN accreditation agreement. The links below provide the official fee schedule and current DNS abuse compliance guidance.
