How the scam works
Fake brand shops copy a real company's name, product photos and styling, then list items at prices low enough to trigger an impulse buy. At checkout the victim hands over a name, shipping address, email, phone number and payment card details. The order is then never delivered, or something cheap and unrelated arrives. The card data can be reused for further fraudulent charges, and the contact details often end up in follow-up scams. On 2026-10-15, 16 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and CyRadar. A spread of established vendors agreeing is a strong signal that this is not a misfire by a single engine. urlscan.io rated the site malicious and specifically identified it as a fake shop. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses and is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc. on 2026-06-08, about four months before PhishDestroy flagged it. That gap fits the usual pattern for these stores, where a name is held quietly and then put to use when an ad campaign starts. The site runs on a server operated by Malakmadze Web LLC, a Georgian-registered network, with the address located in the US. Its free Let's Encrypt certificate only provides the padlock icon and says nothing about whether the shop is legitimate.
What to do
If you placed an order, call your card issuer right away. Report the charge as fraud, ask for a chargeback and request a replacement card, because the number should be treated as compromised. If you paid through PayPal or a similar service, open a dispute there. Expect phishing emails or texts posing as delivery or refund notices, and buy Bachan's only through the brand's official channels or known retailers.
