PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

worldlibertyfinance.pages.dev is an impersonation phishing page posing as World Liberty Financial under the title "World Liberty Financial - Bridge USD1 Across Chains." It targets holders of the USD1 stablecoin who want to move tokens between blockchains. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-26. The site has been offline since 2026-09-03, and its content was still blocked by the hosting provider when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The lure is a cross-chain bridge, a tool that only works once a wallet is connected and transactions are signed. A fake bridge copies the look of the real brand, then presents malicious approvals or transfers as routine bridging steps. Victims believe they are moving USD1 to another chain. In reality they may be granting the operator permission to spend their tokens, or sending funds straight to the attacker.

Evidence

Nine of 90 VirusTotal engines flagged the site as of 2026-09-04, including ADMINUSLabs, ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Kaspersky and Lionic. That count is modest, but the mix of crypto-focused services and mainstream antivirus vendors points to independent agreement. Google Safe Browsing lists it as social engineering, and urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict with World Liberty branding detected on the page. Beyond PhishDestroy, it appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, so wallet software that uses those feeds would warn users before they reach it.

Infrastructure

The page ran as a subdomain on Cloudflare Pages, a free static-hosting service where anyone can publish a branded-looking address. The registration date is 2025-08-28, about a year before PhishDestroy detected it. Traffic was served from Cloudflare's network with a CA geolocation. Its Google Trust Services certificate was issued automatically by the platform, so the padlock said nothing about who ran the site.

What to do

If you connected a wallet here, use a token-approval checker to review and revoke any allowances granted around the time of your visit. If you signed anything you did not fully understand, move remaining assets to a fresh wallet. Never type a seed phrase into a bridge page, and treat any phrase entered here as compromised. Reach USD1 bridging only through links published on World Liberty Financial's official channels. Defenders should block this hostname and watch for similar World Liberty or USD1 lookalikes on free hosting subdomains.
