PhishDestroy threat report
win-ledger.org is a phishing site that impersonated Ledger. It ran under the page title "Ledger Live Crypto Wallet App | Ledger" to pass as the official companion app for Ledger hardware wallets. The domain name sounds like a prize or promotion, but the page itself copied Ledger's branding to target existing wallet owners. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-08-30. The site has been offline since 2026-09-12 and was still unreachable when last checked on 2026-10-19.
Fake Ledger Live pages usually tell visitors that their device needs an update, a sync or a security check. The visitor is then asked to type the 24-word recovery phrase into a web form. A genuine Ledger product never asks for that phrase online, because the phrase alone is enough to rebuild the wallet on any device. Anyone who submits it effectively hands over every account it controls, and the attackers can empty those funds without ever touching the physical hardware.
Fifteen of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-08. Those vendors include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, CyRadar and the Vietnamese anti-scam group Chong Lua Dao. That is a modest share, but the verdicts come from unrelated security teams that reached the same conclusion independently. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and recognised Ledger branding on it, and Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, and eight AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it.
The domain was registered through Hosting Concepts B.V. d/b/a Registrar.eu. It was hosted on the Omegatech LTD network in the United Kingdom, with no link to Ledger's own infrastructure. The site used a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser proved only that the connection was encrypted, not that the operator was genuine. It went dark about two weeks after PhishDestroy first saw it.
If you typed your recovery phrase into this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new wallet with a freshly generated phrase, ideally after resetting your Ledger device, and move any remaining funds to it immediately. Never re-enter the old phrase anywhere. If you only browsed the page without submitting anything, no action is needed beyond getting Ledger Live solely from Ledger's official channels. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and the proxy layer, and search logs for visits between 2026-08-30 and 2026-09-12 to identify users who may need follow-up.
