PhishDestroy threat report
us-start-ledger.pages.dev is a phishing page that impersonates Ledger. It poses as the brand's official onboarding page under the title "Get started with Ledger — Ledger.com/start®" and targets people setting up or troubleshooting a Ledger hardware wallet. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-15. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its phishing content.
The page copies the wording of Ledger's real setup flow, so a new owner searching for setup instructions can easily mistake it for the official site. Fake "start" pages like this typically steer visitors toward a step that Ledger never asks for, such as typing the 24-word recovery phrase into a website or installing a tampered companion app. Anyone who has the recovery phrase controls the wallet. Once a victim submits it, the operators can rebuild the wallet on their own device and empty it, and the hardware's protection no longer helps.
On 2026-09-22, 15 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. They include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Emsisoft, CyRadar and alphaMountain.ai, a spread of major vendors that points to a confirmed phishing site. urlscan.io gave a malicious verdict and identified Ledger as the brand being imitated. The domain also appears on the MetaMask, SEAL and PhishFeed blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, so users of those wallets and tools should see warnings.
The site is a free subdomain on Cloudflare Pages, created on 2026-07-28. That is about seven weeks before PhishDestroy detected it, which suggests it was set up in advance and given time to circulate. It resolves to Cloudflare, Inc. network space geolocated to Canada. The page has a valid Google Trust Services certificate, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the page is genuine.
If you typed your recovery phrase into this page, treat the wallet as compromised. Reset your Ledger, generate a brand-new phrase on the device itself, and move any remaining funds to the new accounts immediately. If you downloaded anything from the page, uninstall it, scan your computer, and get Ledger Live only from Ledger's official site. If you connected a software wallet, revoke any token approvals you granted. Remember that Ledger never asks for your recovery phrase online. Security teams should block this pages.dev subdomain, watch for similar "start-ledger" naming, and report the page to Cloudflare for takedown.
