PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

uk-ledger-com-start.pages.dev is an impersonation phishing page posing as Ledger, the hardware wallet maker. Its name copies Ledger's own device setup wording and adds a UK prefix to look like a regional onboarding page for new or existing Ledger owners. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-07. The site has been offline since 2026-09-16, with its content blocked by the hosting provider, and it was still down when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger setup pages usually walk visitors through what looks like a firmware update, device sync or security check. At the key step they ask for the 24-word recovery phrase. Anyone who types those words into the site hands over full control of the wallet, and the attacker can empty it from any device without touching the physical Ledger. The page title now reads "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is the provider's warning screen rather than Ledger branding, while our classification is based on the Ledger impersonation.

Evidence

14 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-17, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Emsisoft, alphaMountain.ai and Google Safe Browsing. Google Safe Browsing lists it under SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, its category for sites that trick users into giving up secrets, so Chrome and other browsers that use it show a warning. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and detected Cloudflare's own interstitial branding, which matches the block page now served. The domain is also on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The site is a free subdomain on Cloudflare Pages, served from Cloudflare, Inc. network space geolocated to Canada. Pages subdomains cost nothing and can be created in minutes, which suits short-lived phishing runs. This one lasted about nine days between our first detection and the provider taking it down.

What to do

If you entered your Ledger recovery phrase on this site, treat that wallet as compromised. Set up a fresh device or reset your Ledger with a new phrase, then move any remaining funds to the new addresses right away, before the attacker does. Ledger will never ask for your recovery phrase on a website, by email or through support chat. Use only Ledger Live downloaded from the official source for updates. Security teams should block the domain and other ledger-themed pages.dev subdomains, and report new lookalikes to Cloudflare and PhishDestroy.
