PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

support-ledgr-desktop-li.pages.dev is an impersonation phishing page built to look like Ledger Live Desktop, the companion app for Ledger hardware wallets. Its title, "Ledger Live Desktop - Secure Hardware Wallet Management," is aimed at Ledger owners looking for the desktop software or for support. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-15. The site has been offline since 2026-09-23 after the hosting provider blocked its content, and it was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Pages like this pose as the official place to download or fix Ledger Live, usually after the victim searches for help or follows a lure. They then steer the visitor into typing the 24-word recovery phrase into a fake "sync" or "restore" form, or into installing a counterfeit app that asks for it. Ledger never asks for the recovery phrase on a website or in Ledger Live. Anyone who hands it over gives the attacker full control of every account on the device, and they can empty the wallet without touching the hardware.

Evidence

Thirteen of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-22. Those vendors include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CyRadar, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Kaspersky, a broad and independent group. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and recognized Ledger branding on the page. The domain is also listed by MetaMask and SEAL alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet-side warnings were in place.

Infrastructure

The site was a free Cloudflare Pages subdomain created on 2026-08-19, about four weeks before PhishDestroy detected it. The misspelled "ledgr" and the "support" prefix are typical of throwaway names meant to slip past a quick glance. It was served from Cloudflare's network with a Canadian IP location. The project lasted roughly a week after detection before the provider pulled it.

What to do

If you entered your recovery phrase on this site or in software it supplied, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up the Ledger device again with a brand-new phrase and move any remaining funds to the new accounts right away. Uninstall anything you downloaded from the page and get Ledger Live only from Ledger's official website. If you only visited without entering anything, no action is needed beyond avoiding the site. Defenders should block the domain, watch for similar pages.dev lookalikes that combine Ledger, support and desktop wording, and report new copies to the hosting provider.
