PhishDestroy threat report
sonichecks.com is an impersonation phishing page. It presents itself as "Sonichecks — Automated Audio Quality Control & Loudness Checker." PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-14. Both MetaMask and SEAL list the domain, which places its targets among crypto wallet users. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving content.
The page title shows a software tool for audio loudness and quality checks, while we classify the domain as impersonation phishing. Impersonation pages borrow the name and look of a legitimate-seeming product or service so that visitors trust them enough to act. That action is usually signing in, entering account details or connecting a crypto wallet. Whatever the visitor enters or approves on the page goes to the operators. In the case of a wallet connection, that can mean signed permissions that let assets be moved without further consent.
On 2026-09-24, 11 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. The vendors include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft and Kaspersky. That is a minority of engines, but the vendors are independent of one another and agree on the verdict. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category. It also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, and four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it.
The domain was registered on 2026-09-03, only 11 days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap fits a site set up quickly for a campaign rather than an established business. Registration runs through Cloudflare, Inc., and the site is hosted on Amazon.com, Inc. network space in the United States. It stayed reachable for more than a month after it was first flagged.
If you connected a wallet to sonichecks.com, revoke any token approvals or permissions it requested using a trusted approval-checking tool. Move remaining funds to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not fully understand. If you entered a password or login details, change them wherever you reused them and turn on two-factor authentication. Never paste a seed phrase into any website. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and add it to mail and web filters. They should also check logs for user visits since 2026-09-03.
